Matt Birk

Keynote Speaker

Matt Birk is a devout Catholic, husband, and father. Raised in SaintPaul, Minnesota, he attended Nativity of Our Lord school and parish, where he frequently served Mass as an altar boy. After graduating from Cretin-Derham Hall Catholic High School, he went on to HarvardUniversity and after graduation, to the NFL.

In 2011, Matt won the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year award for excellence and leadership on and off the field. In 2019 Matt co-founded Unity Catholic High School in Burnsville, Minnesota in an effort to provide a vigorously Catholic education to families in the south metro area.

Matt is passionate about Catholic education because he feels it gave him the understanding that God has a purpose for his life.

Frank Crowley

Guest Speaker

Frank Crowley grew up in Boston, attended Catholic grammar and high schools, and then received degrees from Holy Cross College and Boston College Law School.

He practiced with a Boston law firm until 1977 when he and his wife Bonnie relocated to Montana. There, Frank earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana.

Frank moved to Helena in 1979 and retired in 2023 after 50 years in practice during which time he has been active in Cursillo and prison ministry where he has been a motivational speaker.

For 47 years Frank has been married to Bonnie and is father to two grown children has 4 grandchildren. For that same 47 years, Frank has also been a devoted member of the Cathedral parish.
